谁都曾有过的年少轻狂，那个班上每个男生都暗恋的漂亮女孩，一堆莫名其妙、荒唐恶搞、胡闹打屁的匆匆日子，然后，青春就悄悄地逝去了。台湾偶像剧教母柴智屏首任制片，作家九把刀自编自导，将同名畅销小说搬上大银幕，既成功地拍出一如1980年代学生电影的清新质地，又能巧妙镶嵌现今新世代的Kuso气味，绝对惊艳。

【关于选角】
柯震东是一颗未爆弹。那个之前都没有演过什麽东西，那其实我们试镜了很多遍，女主角是最早确定的角色，我基本上会自己投资钱进来，很大一部份就是我希望陈妍希是女主角，这是我第一部，或许是我此生唯一的一部，而且它又是我的故事，我希望女主角要很有我的缘和我的爱。
我是以陈妍希为核心下去打造角色群，因为你要任何人跟她在一起，看起要搭称，就是包括像蔡昌宪他们都是一样，就是以陈妍希为核心，下去挑角色的。男主角我们也是挑最久，中间当然有一些比较有名的人来试镜，柯震东每次都有进步，后来其实我发现，我很喜欢柯震东，因为我每次看着他拿着剧本在角落那边，很害怕的样子，他是一个胆小鬼，但是每次上去演的时候，他都会进步，他都不会怯场。说他是未爆弹，我也是未爆弹。我有一点得到柴姊的支持，我喜欢柯震东这个人，觉得他好像也有我的爱的感觉，所以我就觉得，好吧，那就试试看。
柯震东有时会想出一些被我认可的小动作。比如说有一次拍大家在上课无聊的一个状态，柯震东自己就把笔塞进去他的鼻孔裡面，那是一个有记忆性的动作，我就跟他讲，好，现在开始，就是记住这个动作，我没有提醒你也要做，这个是你的各种角色的动作。
萤幕魅力，是他的，而不是教出来的，所以整部戏成立之后，他所有的镜头都成立了。
郝邵文很会讲话，常常侃侃而谈，蔡昌宪也蛮会开玩笑，敖犬很有大将之风，很有自信，敖犬其实给柯震东蛮大的压力的。陈妍希她其实很开心可以演女主角，只是中间过程一直在跟肥胖作战。
妍希在大部份拍的情况之下，我会跟她讲说，妍希，刚刚演得很好，妳用另外一种方式演演看，或者是妍希，妳刚刚演得很好，我可以再看妳演一次吗？很好，那我们再演一次，我单纯想要看有没有新的可能性发生。
弯弯在我没有徵求她的同意之下，把她写进剧本了，我是仗着剧本很好看，她一定会答应。直到有一天，弯弯在拍一个记录片，记录片要採访我，我就顺口，真的是顺口问弯弯，我剧本有写你这样子的一个角色，很正面，前面会亏你，就是画画没前途，但是最主要是为了后面的翻转，就是会让大家觉得很惊喜，那你要不要演自己？(本来想说…请张榕容来演，因为我喜欢张榕容，难得做一次导演，就是要把自己所有喜欢的女生都找过来演，那弯弯开了金口说他要演弯弯，我就没得选择了) 但弯弯很可爱，我会这样戏称，就是因为弯弯跟我是出版界的周杰伦跟蔡依林呀。
弯弯之所以摆进来，其实也是有点跟我自己对话的过程，因为我在国中的时候，我最大的梦想是要当漫画家，我从国小开始就想当漫画家，所以一直画漫画、一直画漫画，但是后来我发现我的才能不足，所以我放弃当漫画家了，到后来弯弯我看到是整个吓一跳，干，这样画也可以哦!
那想当年的我也是有才能的啦，弯弯他极简风嘛，一开始就是会令人挫到，所以后来我才在电影裡面加了那一段，就是柯震东去嘲笑弯弯，画画没前途，然后在电影后面弯弯人生大逆转，是裡面所有人最有成就的，我让主角讲了这段话，就是到最后可以实现梦想的，往往不是最有才能的人，而是直到最后一刻也不放弃的那一个人，我很高兴我看走眼了。
我很爱我妈妈，一开始我就问我妈说你要谁演你，她提了二个人，一个是王彩桦，一个是黄嘉千。王彩桦当时还没有唱保庇，现在有点像是赚到了的感觉。
饰演柯震东的爸爸，就是柯震东真实的爸爸，整部电影都该是我的经验，如果我可以让柯震东可以有他的印记在里面，我觉得也很好，我喜欢大家各自从这个电影裡面找到一些快乐的能量这样。
饰演导师的李组长，他在网路上非常红。纯粹就是因为他很红，然后我觉得他很好笑，所以我请他来演导师时，我就对着他说：『李组长，接下来你要演李组长，你不要演导师，你就用你平常在玫瑰瞳铃眼裡的语气来演这一段，你不要去演其他的角色，就演李组长就好!我就是要玫瑰瞳铃眼裡李组长的节奏呀!』。
教官那个角色，我本来是叫那个陈挥文来演，因为我很喜欢陈挥文，因为他骂人的超凶的，那不知他是凶三小；但大家一直说他不会演，所以后来就找了一个完全是一个教官典型的人。他以前是职业军人，所以他本身就有军魂的感觉。在教官那场戏时，非常辛苦，因为那一场戏分镜量非常大，有11颗镜头在同一个空间，教官的台词要唸快30次，当他念到中间的时候，他主动跟我讲说：『导演，我不行了，我声音不行了』，我都还没有拍完哩，只好叫大家泡热水给他喝，然后我继续拍。
李维维来试镜的时候，大家都很兴奋，所有的男生都…敖犬一堆人就是趴到牆上去，上面一条缝，看我interview那个李维维这样子，她就是有一种很可爱的魅力，她很凶，但是她其实一喊cut的时候，她就变成一个小女人，好可爱喔。
李维维也演得很好，一场英文老师飙男主角的戏，李维维第一次一演完，全班鼓掌?！英文老师的那场戏及教官那场戏，是全班一起演，临演们都是直接参与了，他们就觉得很好。
另外很奇怪的是…他们都很喜欢柯震东，每次看到柯震东就一直鬼叫，明明还不是明星，他们都会觉得好开心。他…有群众缘这件事情可能很早就发生了。
【关于场景】
我的家场景在彰化，我们在勘景的时候，就在我老家附近，走路大概约一分钟的时间就可以到了，整个房间的风格，真的很像我以前的房间，最后就是个人情感的因素，我选了那个场景。巧不巧!! 超近的啦，我家在一百五十几号，他选在八十几号，所以我妈也会来探班(笑)。
因为太想看到柯景腾与沈佳宜穿上我记忆中制服的模样了，所以精诚中学是唯一的选项。这真的是相当有爱的一个决定。基本上，也是因为我想在精诚中学开拍，才进一步坚定在彰化开拍的意志。
主场景定在精诚中学，明显的限制也出来了，尤其精诚中学是一间传统相当重视升学的学校，所以几乎无法在暑假之外支援拍摄，为了避免打扰到学弟妹的学习，我必须确实地在暑期辅导间完成主要高中场景的拍摄。
说起来也很巧，现在精诚中学的校长赖炳辉是我以前的班导师，从我国二开始就教我们理化跟化学到高三。后来赖老师加速进化成了赖校长，这中间的关联当然非常有意义。我在想，如果不是有这一层特别友善的信赖关係，我打定主意将「那些年，我们一起追的女孩」的电影版拿回彰化原景重拍的可能性，一定锐减。
老实说，回精诚拍电影，完全是我个人强烈的执念使然。电影的场景跟小说叙述的场景是不是同一间学校，百分之九十九的观众根本不会在乎，只有让我自己一个人、顶多再加上几万个精诚校友看了暗暗开心。
更实际一点来说，电影好不好看跟电影是不是在原着场景拍摄，关连性不大，电影如果在原着场景拍，结果拍出一沱大便，观众也不会因为电影跑到原着地点拍摄而感动。
所以重点是：在哪一个场景拍摄，才能为电影最后的成果加分？从地理空间上看，精诚是一间非常小的学校，校舍拥挤，学生众多，最近一年有崭新的大楼矗立在旧校区的中间，在画面上颇有突兀之处，令镜头运转多有限制（很多校园电影特别喜欢在花莲或宜兰拍，那种天大地大的旷感不是没有道理）。
但精诚有许多地方还是维持着我印象中的特色，勘景时也找到了适合拍摄的教室区域------呈现出非常简洁的日式美感，始料未及的出色！
用拍电影的眼睛看自己的母校，精诚展现了美丽的一面，我很感动。
过程有件有趣的事，是我一直以为上下课铃声可以关掉，但老师们都相当熟悉规训的法则，他们觉得一但拿掉铃声，学生会无法被控制，节奏完全不对了。所以我们拍戏的时候，距离铃声只剩下五分钟的时候，就不能拍，或是只剩十分钟也不会拍，就是一定要等铃声刚刚打过的时候，我们赶快来拍，不然我们可能会收到铃声，整段声音就不能用。
在我心爱的母校拍电影，无形中承受的压力也特别大，因为拍电影需要非常好的环境与音场------我们绝对会打扰学校。可以想见，届时一定会有很多学生会很不满，觉得：拍电影有什麽了不起？我们都是缴那麽多学费来上课的，凭什麽要我们轻声细语？为什麽连下课都要我们放轻脚步？为什麽我们上课不能大笑？为什麽我们不能正常上体育课？为什麽我们不能用二楼的厕所？为什麽为什麽为什麽？
不只学生，一定也有老师会质疑：我们的学校需要拍电影宣传吗？拍完电影后我们的学校会得到什麽好处？九把刀会捐款吗？拍出来的电影会不会破坏校誉？拍电影那麽打扰作息，有比让学生好好学习来得重要吗？凭什麽凭什麽凭什麽？
是啊，凭什麽？
我没有什麽具体的贡献可以带给学校的好处。精诚原本就很棒，不需要支援一部电影来招生。精诚原本就很好，不需要特别拍一部电影增加校誉。想回精诚中学拍电影，理由绝对不是「我认为精诚中学很适合拍电影」，而是「我很想要在电影裡重现所有我爱的感觉」。那裡是我的青春圣地，我想我透过镜头凝视精诚中学的时候，眼神一定充满了爱与眷恋。
如果拍这场电影，会令很多学弟妹或老师度烂这一部电影，度烂我，弄得我最爱的学校跟我的剧组有不愉快，起冲突，那就得不偿失……不，是后悔莫及了。
听起来是我白担心？我倒不觉得。
电影裡有很多劲爆的话题剧情都发生在精诚中学裡，充满了恶搞的禁忌、冲撞权威的战斗威力、师长始终质疑的小情小爱，虽然以上这些争议性元素都好发在校园电影裡，比如蓝色大门在师大附中拍、艋舺在建国中学拍、比如九降风在竹东高中拍，也都很成功，BUT！
所以我也要认真期待，或许一开始会有一些检讨声浪，但「那些年，我们一起追的女孩」电影受到大家欢迎之后，会让学校慢慢认同这一部充满爱的作品，也会回过头来，认同我这个超级学长对母校表达爱的方式。
因为我真的很爱精诚中学。
【关于电影歌曲】
我在写剧本的时候，决定用恋爱症候群这首歌，当是男女主角他们互相比赛考试的时候，用MV式的拍法呈现。恋爱症候群要配那些男女主角读书的画面，要写黑版、要跟邻居吵架。
恋爱症候群、永远不回头，还有一首歌是叫做寂寞咖啡因，是我在高中二年级时，写给沉佳宜的歌。当时我写给我喜欢的女孩子，大概快20首歌，那阵子我以为我将来会当作曲的人。
我从小就不会看五线谱，我只是一边骑脚踏车一边哼歌，把旋律都记住，但后来我从写小说的那天开始，我就不会写歌了，就写不出来了，有一种才能交换的感觉。我把这些歌选了几首收录在我的小说的CD裡面。
薛忠铭老师，他看完小说之后听了歌，觉得裡面有一些可以选出来与电影结合，他觉得满有意义的。这个部分其实我满感动的，他其实有尝试着从我过去的生命的一些轨迹，接受它，然后想办法把它连结起来。
老实讲，这些歌就是我写给沈佳宜的，是一个很拙劣的写歌的方法，当然跟电影没有关係，要不是老师主动提起，我根本不敢尝试从我写过给沉佳宜的歌裡面来挑一些歌给电影用。所以我还满感谢他主动提出这想法，然后我就在录音室裡把这首歌从头到尾唱一遍，让他抓到主旋律，再去做编曲。
有一首歌是陈妍希写的，叫做孩子气，每次读本读到最后，陈妍希都会哭，她每次哭我都会觉得有点开心，就表示他很喜欢这个故事嘛，我们拍摄到一半的时候，她跟我讲说他为这个电影写了二首歌。孩子气那首歌我觉得很可爱，妍希很投入，她以这个角色的心情跟立场下去写了这样子的歌曲，所以我就把孩子气那首歌推荐给薛忠铭老师，薛忠明老师这方面满特别尊重我的，也採用了。
寂寞咖啡因这首歌，薛忠明老师问我说有没有属意的歌手，我说如果柯震东可以唱，那就他来唱，因为他是男主角，这首歌本来就男主角写给沈佳宜的歌。
小胖的「人海中遇见你」，那首歌，其实我想要用这首歌当做婚礼的进行曲的时候，除了我之外，没有人听过。原唱者是殷正洋，我从国小就很喜欢。
我以前很喜欢沈佳宜的时候，我很怕告白，因为我总觉得会被拒，所以沈佳宜的确有跟我讲说，你不想知道答案吗？我说不要。我一直在准备跟沈佳宜告白这句话，就是「妳要不要当我的女朋友？」「要不要跟我在一起？」或是「嫁给我。」这是我的对白。
我曾经想要在告白的时候，把「人海中遇见妳」当做是我的背景音乐，我一直觉得日剧《东京爱情故事》这麽感人，是因为他们每次经典的场景出现的时候都有一首歌，如果把那首歌除掉，乾乾的看他们两个人对话，那有什麽热血？哪来的感人？但就是因为有背景音乐，我们才会精神一振，所以我觉得说我跟沉佳宜告白的时候，我也要有背景音乐。
「人海中遇见妳」不仅好听，它歌词很有意义，「亲爱的，我多麽幸运人海中可以遇见妳」，我把这些卡带给我这些一起追沉佳宜的好朋友，请他们把这首歌练会，我就要在告白的时候，他们在旁边当小天使在那边唱，有情境之下，她就比较容易答应我。我从小就很有自信，自信到有点骄傲，但我在沉佳宜面前就会莫明处于抬不起头的状态，就会很怕她不跟我在一起。
我记得在个烤肉的场合的情况下，我想要大家唱那首歌，帮我追沈佳宜，但其实他们都不知道为什麽要练这首歌，当我告诉他们，因为我要跟沈佳宜告白，所有人都拒唱，他们就觉得说：『干，妈的，然后…』。真的这首歌对我来讲很有意义，因为它是我要跟沈佳宜告白的主题曲，当我提出这首歌的时候，我的执行导演他们非常shock，非常的愤怒，他们觉得没有听过这首歌，你居然拿来当进行曲，觉得莫名其妙。
加上说，我希望这首歌有一点小小舖梗的感觉，我希望柯震东在擦脚踏车，沈佳宜要从他后面要给他课本那段，其实嘴巴中哼的就是「人海中遇见妳」，这是电影的一些小细节，他的耳机裡头的音乐，就是要放这首歌；要让他听到这个音乐哼这首歌，一定得听过嘛！之后小胖重唱的版本很好听，很优美，后来在剪接的时候，大家也发现那首歌超级好听。当聚光灯打在沉佳宜身上时，她转过来，正好接到主旋律，『亲爱的我多麽幸运人海中能够遇见你…』，有圆了我当年的梦想。
【记忆重现】
电影裡面有一些符码，是我的符码也是大家的一些小记忆，比如说，弯弯一开始出场的时候，就讲玫块之夜，那个是我每个礼拜六都要看的，曾庆瑜跟澎恰恰。再来像井上雄彦(灌蓝高手的作家)死掉的谣言，这个谣言在目前网路时代根本不会发生，但当时井上雄彦的传言传了非常久，另外像八卦山有殭尸在那边跳，这个传言是当时的疯言疯语，算是故事中跟时代性相对照的小元件。
办格斗赛，老实讲它是很突发的一个事件，我希望沈佳宜可以觉得我很勇敢。很长很长一段时间我误会我自己很会打架，因为我很喜欢打架，几乎都没有输过，所以我在办格斗赛时，其实是想炫燿自己很打，但结果我被打的超级惨，那时候我才发现，原来过去跟我打架的人都很弱，我一旦和真正高手打，我就被打得很惨。最后那个直钩拳是真的，所以我鼻子到现在都是歪的，就是被那拳扫下来。另外是跟沈佳宜是在电话裡面大吵，我觉得呈现在电影裡乱没张力的，所以在改编的时候就会就变成面对面，再来我觉得人就是有一些即定印象的偏执，吵架就要在雨中，张学友有首歌，「分手总是在雨中」，就是要下雨吧，就来吧，而且它是我生命中一个非常关键的事件，所以我希望电影裡面有这段，要拍点武打的部份，我们就来打吧，因为它我生命的真实事件。
马克吐温说，现实人生永远比小说还要离奇，因为现实人生不需要顾及到可能性。我反而是要把这个格斗赛的可能性稍微连结起来，就往前加了段主角在家裡面练拳击的内容，然后将格斗赛处理的有蒙太奇的感觉，快速的回忆他以前打牆壁的片段。沉佳宜考不好的那一段也是真的，就一个非常在意成绩的人来讲，联考失败是很挫折的一件事情，沉佳宜从小到大只会念书，但确还是考不好，以她的标准来讲算是考不好，但是我很开心是这件事让我觉得追她比较好追，有女神折翼的感觉，觉得她比较接近凡人，比较好靠近。
【柯震东的打戏与哭戏】
有一段很趣的，柯震东打的那个木板，一开始之柔弱，烂透了。我说再去打一次，我说跟你讲再多都没有用，自己来看萤幕，就是你希望你自己进电影院看到是这个样子吗？他继续打，干，打得还是不够用力。
我们找了一个手和他很像的人拍给他看，柯震东就在我后面，看着萤幕，看着别人的手在那边打那个墙壁，就在默默地看，看完之后我讲说，柯震东我跟你赌一万块钱，你会入围金马奖最佳新人，我说，柯震东闭上眼睛，他就闭上眼睛，你看那个画面，现在你在金马奖囉，我说「金马奖最佳新人入围的有《那些年我们一起追的女孩》柯震东」，然后接下来就画面就是你在打牆壁哟，那个手不是你的，我说你要在颁奖典礼的时候看到…你看到画面想说，啊！那不是我的手！我说你要这样子吗？他就说，我不要。我说，那你要怎麽样？他说，那我要继续打。他后来打到流血了。
柴姊的建议，就是她看完我们初剪的时候，她觉得柯震东应该要哭，他应该跟沈佳宜吵完架之后要哭，因为他要有…真的有…让观众知道他痛彻心扉的感觉。因为我很讨厌人家讲一些虚无缥淼，所谓的建议啦；但她讲的建议很具体，我就让柯震东哭。
拍柯震东哭的时候，我就跟所有人轮流过去跟他讲一段感人的小故事，摄影机就在旁边，他就随时等柯震东哭他就直接录就对了，我去跟他讲了一些心裡面的话，我妈生重病的时候，其实我一点都不畅销，然后就很怕我妈妈没有看到我任何成就就走了，我觉得亲情是无敌的，我讲的是我妈妈，但你很容易就带入你妈妈，因为我很放真的感情，所以他其实就很动容，我有感觉到他其实有情绪了，就想要默默走开的时候，忽然之间，有人拿了一通电话给柯震东，是柯震东的妈妈，但是…我们错判了一件事情，柯震东其实比较爱他爸爸。
跟＊＊妈讲了两句，＊＊就把电话给他爸爸，他爸讲了一句不管做什麽都会支持你，就这麽一句，干，有够无聊的对白，柯震东就飙泪了，他一飙泪，整个大崩溃，哭的超惨，很可爱。
拍蛮久我才喊cut，我看他这样哭的时候，其实我也一边开始掉眼泪，算高兴的眼泪啦。拍完后我就过去拍拍他的肩膀说，从现在开始你是真正的演员了，这是柯震东的杀青戏，是我们补拍的。他最后一场戏就是这场，所以我以他这麽好的一场戏当做这齣电影的句号。
最挫折的一场戏
有一场戏是敖犬要在厕所里放一罐仙草蜜，原本只打算拍一个镜头，但由于这场戏两位演员的台词量不少，导演九把刀就把这场戏改成了先两个拍特写，再拍两人撒尿的样子，之后才到两人对话。
敖犬很坚持把仙草蜜放在两个人正中间的位置，因此每次放不对，只要稍微偏左或者偏右一点他就会自己喊Cut。导演认为其实仙草蜜的位置稍微差一点也没关系，但敖犬却想保证画面的协调性。最后这一段拍了将近30次才通过。
